Within my university module 'drama at work', our first task in the semester was to come up with an obituary. Concerned faces were exchanged amongst us, however we did as we were asked. People took turns to read out their obituaries in front of the class and they uncovered how each person saw themselves, how they wanted others to see them and what they thought they would have accomplished by the time they had passed away. Some were short and snappy, some were long and elaborate. Some serious, some hilariously funny. Each one showed the individual characteristics of each person and really created a sense of aspiration. And that was precisely the idea. We were able to picture our ideal lives and how we would like to be known as. I wrote that I hope to die a successful and fulfilled writer, having making my career something I love and enjoy. Right now I'm not sure what I want to do, but I definitely want to go down a career path regarding either journalism, or promotions and marketing. This exercise encouraged me to take Herricane further, branding my own business that I will hopefully, one day, be known for. I hope to travel and experience the world before I die, and have a mind full of memories that will stay with me forever.
